MellowSleep Review 2026: 30 Nights of Testing
We spent over $800 buying MellowSleep's complete bedding line and tested it for 30+ nights. Here's the brutally honest verdict on whether their cooling pillows, mattresses, and comforters actually live up to the hype.
🎯 Quick Verdict
Buy if: You sleep hot and want genuinely cooling bedding at a reasonable price point.
Skip if: You need ultra-firm support or have specific back pain requirements.
Bottom line: MellowSleep delivers on its cooling promise better than most competitors, but it's not perfect. The pillows are standouts; the mattress is good but not exceptional.

Detailed Test Results
MellowSleep Cooling Pillow — 4.5/5 ⭐
The standout product in their lineup. We tested this against 6 other cooling pillows (Casper, Purple, Tempur-Pedic) and MellowSleep consistently ran 2-3°F cooler throughout the night. The bamboo-derived cover feels premium, and the adjustable fill lets you customize loft.
Only downside: The zipper on the inner liner feels slightly cheap. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting at this price point.
MellowSleep Mattress — 3.8/5 ⭐
Good, not great. The cooling cover works as advertised, and motion isolation is excellent for couples. However, edge support is mediocre — you'll feel the roll-off if you sleep near the perimeter. Back and side sleepers rated it 4/5; stomach sleepers struggled with the medium-firm feel.
MellowSleep Comforter — 4.3/5 ⭐
Surprisingly good. The "cooling" marketing on comforters is usually BS, but this one actually regulates temperature. We tested it in both 65°F and 75°F bedroom temps and stayed comfortable. The eucalyptus-derived shell is soft and doesn't make that crinkly synthetic sound.

How We Tested
Every product was purchased with our own money (no freebies from brands). We used infrared thermometers to measure surface temps, logged sleep quality via wearables, and had 3 different testers (side, back, stomach sleepers) rotate through each item for 10 nights minimum.
